Wishing Andrej Šporn All the Best
Farewell to Competitive Skiing
Andrej Šporn, a native to Kranjska Gora, made an announcement in December last year, saying he is bidding farewell to his skiing career. And today, at the Vitranc Cup, he will officially say goodbye to competing on white slopes, in front of his domestic cheerers and fans. The fierce skier who has never been afraid of speed and steep ski runs, will surely be remembered for winning second place at the famous Kitzbühel downhill in 2010. However, his memories of Kitzbühel were stained last January as he got injured there at the official training. At the Hahnenkamm Cup he namely tore his cruciate ligament and after recovering he decided not to compete again.
Andrej Šporn was among the ten best skiers 14 times in his career, he also participated at the Olympic Games two times: Turin in 2006 and Vancouver in 2010.
We wish Andrej Šporn all the best in the future! We look forward to meeting him again at the Vitranc Cup!
